The surrounding
countryside provides for a variety of recreational pursuits including sailing
and windsurfing on the Axbridge Reservoir and fine
country walks on the adjoining hills, all located in an area of outstanding
natural beauty. The area can also be
explored by bicycle, which can be hired in the village, or even by pony
trekking!
Cheddar is ideally
placed for exploring the south west region by car. Cheddar is within easy reach of many Somerset
attractions including the beautiful Wells Cathedral City, Glastonbury Tor & Abbey and Wookey Hole
Caves to name a few.
It is also only 20 minutes drive away from the coast,
with a choice of stunning unspoilt beaches of Berrow
and Brean or the tourist resorts of Weston Super Mare
